SHORE EXCURSION

IMPORTANT NOTE: The Gatun Locks observatory floor for tourists is closed permanently since May 31, 2016, therefore the only way to see the Canal in Colon is going to visit Canal Expansion: Agua Clara, but the number of boats transiting the new Canal will be from 0 to 2 per day and exist the high probability that you never find boats during your visit to the Locks, for that reason we prefer no includes the entrance fee to Canal Expansion US$15 each. In case no boat transiting the new locks, you or any member in your group will have the option to pay and enter to the facility or wait in our minibus meanwhile the other passengers look the new locks and back to the minibus.

Time at the new locks: with boats: 45 minutes approx. without boats 20 minutes approx.

TRANPORTATION: For group tour we use minibuses with capacity for 23 friends for group. For private tour we use van with capacity for 9 passengers or minibus with capacity for 23 depending of the size or your party Also, our company has motorcoach in case you coming with a large group.

TOURS DESCRIPTION: First it will take us 20 minutes to go to the Canal, where you will enter the Gatun locks observation deck. The Panama Canal is recognized as one of the most significant engineering feats in the world, and you will see why it deserves this reputation! At the presentation you will learn about the incredible engineering it took to build them, and there operational significance for international commerce during the last 90 years. You will see the awesome sight of 10,000+ ton vessels carrying there cargo to ports of call around the world.

Second, we will take a 40 minutes traditional indian canoe ride through the Changres River to arrive at the village. During this time, you will feel as if you were transported to the year 1492. Here the indians will welcome you warmly, and speak to you about there fascinating culture and way of life that has remained literaly unchanged for centuries. Later you will have the opportunity to see an authentic indian dance that represents these peoples great respect and love for the animals and environment of their world. You will also learn other incredible facets of there way of life.

Third, you will have the opportunity to taste traditional Embera lunch and buy some traditionaly carved artcrafts, and later, we will travel back to the indian pier.

Finally, you will return to your cruise to continue with your travel, and share with others your incredible cultural experience!
