SHORE EXCURSION

IMPORTANT NOTE: The Gatun Locks observatory floor for tourists is closed permanently since May 31, 2016, therefore the only way to see the Canal in Colon is going to visit Canal Expansion: Agua Clara, but the number of boats transiting the new Canal will be from 0 to 2 per day and exist the high probability that you never find boats during your visit to the Locks, for that reason we prefer no includes the entrance fee to Canal Expansion US$15 each. In case no boat transiting the new locks, you or any member in your group will have the option to pay and enter to the facility or wait in our minibus meanwhile the other passengers look the new locks and back to the minibus.

Time at the new locks: with boats: 45 minutes approx. without boats 20 minutes approx.

Among these are ocelots, sloths, armadillos, pumas, anteaters, spider and howler monkeys, deer, caimans, crocodiles, and many snakes. This rainforest is an ecological paradise not to be missed! There are many stops included for photo opportunities! Next your shore excursion continues on to the ruins of San Lorenzo Fort which is famous for repelling attacks by all the pirates of the Caribbean for almost 75 years. Then the shore excursion will stop at the new Canal Expansion: Aguas Claras. Where you will observe how work the new Canal system with super tanker and big cargos ships transiting the new Locks with more than 7,000 containers. This particular shore excursion is a great combination of the diversity Panamá has to offer.
