In this tour, we will take a 20-minute journey to the Canal, where you will enter the observation deck of the Gatun Locks. The Panama Canal is renowned as one of the most significant engineering feats in the world, and you'll quickly see why it deserves this reputation! During the presentation, you'll learn about the remarkable engineering that went into its construction and its operational significance for international commerce over the past 90 years. You'll witness the impressive sight of 10,000+ ton vessels carrying their cargo to ports around the globe.
Next, we’ll enjoy a 40-minute ride on a traditional Indian canoe through the Chagres River to reach the village. During this journey, you’ll feel as if you’ve been transported back to 1492. The Indigenous people will warmly welcome you and share insights into their fascinating culture and way of life, which has remained virtually unchanged for centuries. Later, you’ll have the opportunity to experience an authentic Indian dance that showcases their deep respect and love for the animals and environment around them. You’ll also learn about other incredible aspects of their way of life.
Following this, you can savor a traditional Embera lunch and browse handmade crafts. Afterward, we will return to the Indian pier.
Finally, you will return to your cruise to continue your travels, eager to share your incredible cultural experience with others!
Private tour (Minimum 6 passengers): Air-conditioned vehicle, English/Spanish speaking guide, Entrance fees, Boat ride, Lunch, Beverages, and snacks on the road.
PAYMENT METHOD: We prefer payment in cash on the day of the tour as soon as you board our vehicle in Colon or PayPal.
TRANSPORTATION: For group tours, we use minibuses with a capacity of 23 passengers per group. For private tours, we use a van with a capacity of 9 passengers or a minibus with a capacity of 23 depending on the size of your party Also, our company has a motorcoach in case you are coming with a large group.
MEETING PLACE: The meeting place is Colon 2000 dock, between the escalator and Fantastic Casino, in our video clip you will see accurate pictures of the place, our guide will use a company T-shirt and hold a sign with ALMIZA TOURS printed on it.
